PRICING
TERMS
These Pricing Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Ignite Plumbing Heating & Gas Ltd. By authorising our attendance or chargeable work you agree to be bound by these terms, subject to any mandatory statutory rights.
1. Published Rates
Any prices, hourly rates, attendance charges or other pricing displayed on our website, Google Business Profile, social media pages, advertisements or other online platforms are provided for general information and are subject to change. We regularly review our pricing and cannot guarantee that historic, cached, archived, screenshotted or third-party versions of our rates remain current. The applicable price will be the rate or price communicated and agreed with the customer at the time of booking, on attendance, or before chargeable work is authorised.
2. Outdated or Historic Pricing
Previous prices do not create an entitlement to receive services at a historic rate. Where a customer has viewed an older version of our pricing, the current applicable rate will be confirmed before chargeable work proceeds wherever reasonably practicable. A screenshot, cached webpage, search-engine result or third-party listing showing an earlier price will not override a subsequently agreed quotation or rate.
3. Estimates & Quotations
Any estimate is an indication of the anticipated cost based on the information available at the time and is not a fixed-price quotation unless expressly stated in writing to be a “Fixed Price”. Where the circumstances, condition of the installation, accessibility, extent of the defect or required works differ from what could reasonably have been established beforehand, additional work and charges may be required. We will explain material additional charges and obtain authorisation before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.
4. Attendance & Assessment
Where an attendance, minimum charge, first-hour charge or assessment charge applies, this covers the engineer’s attendance and/or initial assessment for the period stated. Payment for an attendance or assessment does not guarantee that a fault can be diagnosed or repaired within that period. Where a repair can reasonably be completed during the initial attendance, we may offer to undertake it, subject to the customer’s authorisation and any applicable labour and material charges.
5. Hourly Rates
Where work is undertaken on an hourly or time-based basis, charges will be calculated using the applicable rate agreed with the customer. Different rates may apply depending upon the nature of the service, including plumbing, heating, gas, drainage, specialist leak detection, Trace & Access, emergency attendance and out-of-hours work.
6. Emergency & Out-of-Hours Work
Emergency, same-day, evening, weekend, bank-holiday or out-of-hours attendance may be charged at different rates from standard scheduled appointments. The applicable rate will be communicated before the customer authorises the attendance wherever reasonably practicable.
7. Specialist Leak Detection & Trace & Access
Specialist leak detection and Trace & Access are investigative services. Payment for an investigation does not guarantee that the precise source of an escape of water can always be identified within a particular period or without further investigation. Additional testing, repeat attendance or destructive access may be recommended where reasonably required to progress the investigation. Any additional chargeable work will be explained before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.
8. Fixed-Price Work
Where we provide a written fixed price, that price applies only to the scope of work described. Work outside the agreed scope, unforeseen defects, additional faults, inaccessible services or additional work requested by the customer may be treated as a variation and charged separately following customer approval.
9. Materials & Additional Costs
Unless expressly included within a quotation, parts, materials, parking, congestion charges, specialist equipment, waste disposal and other reasonably incurred job-specific costs may be charged separately where applicable and where agreed with the customer.
10. Customer Authorisation
Before undertaking chargeable work, we will seek the customer’s authorisation where reasonably practicable. Authorisation may be provided verbally, in writing, electronically or by another clear indication that the customer wishes us to proceed after the applicable charges have been communicated. Where a customer approves a quotation, fixed price or applicable rate and instructs us to proceed, the agreed pricing will apply to the authorised work.
11. Breakdown of Charges
On completion of the attendance or authorised work, we will provide the customer with a breakdown of the charges where reasonably practicable. The breakdown may include, where applicable:
- Attendance or call-out charges;
- Labour and time spent;
- Materials, parts and equipment;
- Specialist investigation or testing charges;
- Parking, congestion charges and other job-specific costs;
- VAT; and
- Any agreed additional work or variations.
The breakdown of charges will reflect the applicable rates, quotation or pricing agreed with the customer.
12. Payment on Completion
Payment is due on site immediately upon completion of the attendance or authorised work, unless we have agreed different payment terms with the customer in writing. Payment may be made by the payment methods we accept at the time, including card, bank transfer or any other method confirmed by us. Where payment is made by card or electronically, the customer may be asked to approve or confirm the transaction on site. If the customer is unable or unwilling to make payment on completion, we reserve the right to issue an invoice and recover any outstanding balance in accordance with applicable law.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By authorising our attendance or chargeable work, and by making payment on site, the customer confirms that they have been made aware of, and agree to be bound by, these Pricing Terms & Conditions, subject to any mandatory statutory rights. Payment does not waive or limit any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
14. VAT
Unless expressly stated otherwise, our published business rates and quotations are exclusive of VAT. VAT will be added at the prevailing statutory rate where applicable. Where consumer-facing pricing is required by law to be displayed inclusive of VAT, we will present the total price accordingly.
15. Pricing Errors
We take reasonable care to ensure published pricing is accurate. Where an obvious administrative, typographical or technical error has occurred, we will notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable and confirm the correct price before proceeding with the affected work.
16. Consumer Rights
Nothing within these Pricing Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or override any statutory rights or remedies available to a consumer under applicable UK law. Where any provision conflicts with a mandatory statutory consumer right, that statutory right will take precedence.
17. Current Pricing
Customers are encouraged to confirm the applicable rate when booking. The rate agreed for the particular appointment or work will form the basis of the charge rather than historic pricing obtained from an outdated webpage, cached search result, screenshot or third-party source.
